

In the Northwest of the biggest island of the "All-Saints-Bay"
is the City of Itaparica called like the island.
Itaparica is the native indian word for "big wall",
but it means the reef in front of the island.
Two kilometers to the east is the most famous beach at the island:
Ponta de Areia.

The beach of "Ponte de Areia"
is the most charming of the island. The main avenue "Avenida Beira Mar" leading to the beach is lined on both sides with restaurants, cafes and -barracs, convenience stores, houses and obviously our pension. |

The streets of Itaparica City are adorned with century old trees. Great vegetation is abundant everywhere. |

The architecture is typical colonial. The area's rich history is also reflected in the various monuments. For example, "Fort San Lorence", located directly on the beach, is a vestige of the Dutch occupation during colonial times. |
